SSD recommendation?
« on: March 09, 2016, 03:33:26 PM »
My wife is doing a bunch of graphics work and she's working with bigger and bigger images.  I was going to jump her from 8GB of RAM to 16GB but am considering a SSD for her as well.  Any recommendations for a good 500GB drive?

Just poking around on Newegg I saw these:

I'm not up on HD manufacturers these days so I depend on reviews and other people like you guys.  Help please?

I also considered just doing the SSD to see if it was enough but she was using almost all of her RAM last night when she was pokin around.  So I think I need to do both.

when I was looking a few months ago, a lot of people recommended Samsung to me.   I ended up buying a traditional 1TB HD though.

I suggest Samsung EVO or Pro series.

The m.2 pro are significantly faster, however they require a PC or laptop with a fairly recent interface.  Good to know though.  By significantly faster I mean installing W10 in 5 minutes or less.
