Anyone see Phelps' win last night?  Wow...that was incredible I was screaming at the TV.  Just insane, a record stays alive by .01 seconds!

He should have lost taking a half stroke at the end. I really thought he wasn't going to do it when I saw him take the extra stroke at the end, but thankfully the other glided a bit too much on his stroke. Usually gliding better than the extra stroke. It looks like the other guy didn't give it a good last kick into the wall.

Anyone see any of the 1000m sprint bicycle races? What a weird sport... they go around at almost walking speed for about 2 of 3 laps staring at each other... playing a sort of cat-and-mouse game of who's gonna lead the final lap (there's an aerodynamic advantage to being 2nd in the last lap). Then one makes a move and they gun it for the finish line.

Took me a while to figure out what was going on though, I didn't know if the race was actually going at first because they were almost stopped the whole time!

Only cycling I watched was the road race, some of the time trails, and I caught a couple of races of the individual pursuit.

I actually have a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, but I havent' done it for the past.. hmm, 13 years? (actually it was called "Poom" because I was too young to have a real black belt, but when you turn 15 they upgrade you).

I did it right up until I left for boot camp.  Haven't been back since.  Kinda want to try another style though.  Perhaps a soft art to compliment it?

Oh and from the guy's actions I say the ban is well earned.

And that video sucked

I left Tae Kwon Do because I moved and the city I ended up in didn't have a WTF school, so I took Kung-Fu for about a  year and a half (until I moved again ). It was pretty neat. I'd like to try Judo though, or Jujitsu.

I wish there was something stronger than the ban.  Could the Chinese arrest him on assault charges?

I wouldn't be surprised if there was some type of international agreement that protected athletics from arrest by the host country for actions taken in the competitions.  One would hope that Cuba would levy their own additional punishments though.

I was thinking Jujitsu or even Tai Chi
