Anyone do it? I think i found my (low cost?) hobby for the summer. I saw this:

http://grandrapids.craigslist.org/zip/1744345363.html

which is what got me interested. I went to grab it, but it was already gone :( In case it gets removed, it was a "10ft Snark Sailboat". Now i want one haha.

I've only been on a sailboat once when I was a kid. One of my dad's friends took us out, and all I remember is the thing listing from side to side like it was about to capsize

I've never been on one. I did have a windsurfing board when i was a kid, but i sucked at it. But i suck at surfing (and skateboards, and snowboards, etc) so it made sense.

I've done a sailing camp 2 years when I was younger.  We did pairs in Sunfish and I rode once in a Catamaran for fun.

We would have a race at the end of the camp, and I remember one of the years my boat won.  :) I miss it.

My friend's brother also has one of these

But I don't really know what it is, have never been on it, and think it's probably well outside of whatever price range you're thinking about.

Yea you can get a six person sleeper used for about 6-10k, but thats a midlife crisis kind of thing. Could be fun to spend that kind of money when the kid is old enough to enjoy it with me.

A sunfish is another model i have been looking at.

Well my friend's brother is only turning 29 this year, but he's still single, so I guess you win in that aspect of the life scale.

I've been out in a small catamaran when I was in Cuba. It's fun but nothing I'd invest in unless I lived in the Caribbean or something.
