Pre Poet
« on: May 21, 2005, 12:58:03 PM »
edit:: I reposted with the second draft.

Pre Poet

He wanted to
learn,
but did not
know how.

Not that he did not know how –
he was afraid.
Afraid of
failure.
Afraid of
himself and
what he'll
find out.

Afraid of reaching
within; of prying
inner most
desires
wants and
thoughts.

Laying

them
down for all to
see –

afraid still, he
fights for the

legend

that is
him and his
DREAM.

Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.

Very succinct, relying on structure alone for emphasis - interesting. I like its simplicity and directness more than some of your other 'heavier' introspections.
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?.
