For the price they are pretty amazing. Nice pick IMO.
They should have a tighter more controlled response than the Sony set. You will likely hear more of the speed of the attack on drums, guitar strings, horns and the like. The downside it they can be a little too forward and may (differs person to person of course) be a little fatiguing, also, for some reason that line has small ear cups. If you find that you are comfortable listening to individual cuts all the way through without always wanting to jump to the next song, it isn't a negative for you, but if you do it is something to consider as a new owner. AT is a great brand and a number of their models are exceptionally popular in recording studios due to the clamping force, price point, and neutrality. Though relatively easy to drive this set will benefit from an DAC/Amp.
I will be interested in what you determine. I am sure you will dig the realism that they bring fun, fun, fun!
