I hate it when people close threads based on some make-believe sense of "this thread has fulfilled its usefulness". This may not be a democracy but we should let free speech rule unless there's unusual circumstances.

I dislike the attitude that potentially useless forums are a bad thing. It's a waste of web space at the worst, so there's no harm in trying it out.

Also, I wish people here (and everywhere) realized that the world's not going to end tomorrow and things can be resolved without getting angry at the drop of a hat.

Mostly I'm satisfied with everything that's gone on here though, and if I had a serious problem I would have mentioned it already. These are just pet peeves and I can live with them.

I hate the "thread closed to avoid flame war" attitude that prevails (elsewhere). I want flamewars, damnit.

To balance, this thread is now about "Rick is sooo fat" jokes:

OK, here's the deal, Rick is sooo fat...

HOW FAT IS HE?

Rick is soooo fat that he ate everything in his house but the (entropy) sink!

Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.

Only to kill it with a statement like that.

All I can say with regard to this thread is that there is a point where abuse of power no longer becomes funny, and dictatorship with a heavy hand becomes boring at best. We have learned that from Rick to a certain extent.

And no... this isn't directed at any one person. And no... I am not saying we are there. But we could get there even in our own hearts... if not careful.

I think that it is important to remember that this is a community sponsored board, and a community run board. If you are fortunate enough to admin or moderate these boards... I think it is important to be humble and to do your best to respect (within reason) the lowliest members of the community.

I think that Ben has done a good job opening up threads for ideas and modification. He and Mike have spent good time on making some of our wants and desires come to fruition. I think that, as far as right now goes, I am very pleased with everything. I am absolutely loving the Variant Dark that Ken made. So all in all... I am very happy with how this turned out.

**edit:  and to add to that, I haven't been posting a lot because I have been super busy.
