NHL Playoffs

I know there are other NHL fans here.  Some of them are even not Canadian!  What do you think so far?  Personally it's a lot of fun to actually see the Wings, you know, not suck so far.   The first two games were pretty great, but they looked very sluggish in the first the other night.

Also, fuck Mick McGeough and the horse he rode in on.  Put your fucking whistle away and let the players play.

This is also a good chance to post my playoff beard (which I started weeks ago, but whatever) since I know you guys are looking for a new picture of me to make fun of.

Im cheering for Calgary in that series, so your damn wings can just go to hell. Dominatrix or whatever it is he likes to be called can retire again for all I care, everyone knows Patrick Roy is the greatest goalie of all time (sorry Cancuck, Moog is awesome too).

Edmonton didn't make it (likely because of trading all of their good players off). oh well, without Smyttie it's not really the Oilers anyway.

I'm happy to see Vancouver doing well, I'll take them all the way :thumbsup:

I don't have cable so I don't get to see a lot of games, only CBC broadcasts.

God damn, I feel so inadequate.  I can't sculpt anything out of my beard.

Most of my coverage is coming from the CBC too, with a few from my local Fox Sports channel.  The only other cable channel that it's broadcast on in the States is VS., and no one actually gets that channel.

re: The Oilers
I've got sort of a soft spot for them; Matt Greene went to high school with me and was on my roller hockey team.  I was a better d-man than him back in the day, I swear.

i like hockey but haven't really followed it much this year (or last)

I did go the Boston Bruins last game of the year back on 4/6.  they lost but it didn't really matter because they had no playoff hopes anyway.

Ray Bourque was there, so that was cool.  His niece sang (horribly) the Canadian National Anthem.

we had some rather awesome center ice 12th row seats though, so that was nice!

That's awesome.  My girlfriend and I got to see the Wings from the second row last season, but we were down by one of the faceoff circles.  Couldn't really see anything at the other end of the ice.

Also a lot of the people around us were pretty obviously there with tickets from work and didn't care about the game, which sort of ticked me off

Yes, we all know Moog was awesome..

I have been watching a bit of hockey, I havent been following a particular team, but my heart is with all the Candian teams, except Ottawa.  I have never liked them, never will.  I would like to see Vancouver do well, they finally have a solid goaltender with Luongo! I hated Cloutier, what a sieve! Playoff hockey is awesome!

I couldnt grow a beard if my life depended on it.. sorry, no playoff beard for me!

Have a good time watching McClellan slash Franzen after less than 20 seconds of ice time and getting to see Calgary's role model captain spear a Wings defenseman when the game's clearly out of reach.  What a bunch of classless assholes.
