hmm....sounds like a biggy fukin game. I'm trying to remember but isnt there a "diagnostic" mode that DX can run in? god i hate DX

By the way, I also uninstalled .NET 1 and 2 and installed 3.5... no change.

Well yea its on the drive, but its mounted if its an image, and running as a virtual drive. Copying those files into an actual folder allows u to run it without it being through a virtual mount. thus allowing u to try ethics compatability theory.

video drivers wont affect dx detection.

Completely remove DX. Disable auto updates, reboot.

Download fresh copy of DX from ms, install.

reboot, try again.

That file doesn't exist.  There is an autorun.ini file but it didn't have anything about the DX version.

And RoD... how do you uninstall directx?  It's not listed in Add/Remove.

If the issue is not contained to ober (it appears to be a major game flaw) then that would be a waste of money.
