Starting watching this on Netflix. I haven't finished it yet, but one of the initial stats has really stuck with me. The USA has around 5% of the worlds population, and 25% of the world's prisoners. holy shit...

Yeah, the amount of people we put in prison is insane.  A lot of prisons are private and therefore make money off of having more prisoners.  That's a huge part of the problem right off the top.

I have an intense hate of the third class citizens generated by the prison system.  Unacceptable.
