Title: Touch Pad issues
Post by: Perspective on April 16, 2005, 06:14:52 PM
The touch pad on my laptop is starting to ... well, suck ass.  It doesnt respond like it used too. Some times ill be moving my finger up but the mouse doesnt really follow like it should, its just not picking up all the movement. Also, the double tap and hold (which is used for click and drag) doesnt work anymore.

My laptop is nearing its second birthday. Good thing i bought the 3 year service plan :)

I've heard of them going bad pretty fast before... I'd get a replacement ASAP.

Can I go on record as saying I hate touchpads. Never used mine except for emergencies. Even worse are those sucky IBM tits on the keyboard...

Ill try giving a good cleaning. I have another year on the warrenty so i can ship it back and get one... but its my only computer right now and i don't really want to part with it for that long. I also have a lot of crap i'd need to back up.

i hate those track point nipples too, i have no need for a third nipple to play with.

hey perspective, how about you simply get a normal mouse for it? they make some cool little gadgets for laptops if you want something smaller - wireless too.

I never got used to my touchpad...actually I hate it; I've always used a normal mouse with my laptop.

axon, i have a USB mouse that i use with it when im at work. The problem is that i don't have a desk at home, so i just sit on my couch with my laptop on my lap or on the coffee table. The coffee table is glass so optical won't work without a mousepad or something. I'll probably resort to that if it gets any worse.

Those little wireless USB mouses (intentionally saying "mouses") are pretty cool. The USB thing gets stored in the actual mouse... something like this.

but less ugly, and maybe a little less expensive.

For no real reason, I feel the need to say in an asian accent "Scaramanga!"

i like the track point... it takes a bit to get used to but it's as handy as a mouse. and you don't have to keep brushing like you would a trackpad
