Anybody watch that thing about the life of John Paul? What crap!
The chase scenes were badly done and the acting was horrible. Ok granted, the whole battling with the vampires subplot was well done. But the dramatic moment  where he finds out that Hitler was his father? Totally ripped off from Star Wars.
Leave the gun. Take the canolis.

Jumping over the Danube River in the Popemobile was the best part, IMO.

edit: Lighting it on fire was a bit much, though.

On a serious note:
For someone of his age and time as Pope 2 hours just doesn't do any justice.  I kinda wish they had spent more time pre-popedom so we could see more about what influenced him.  Like his relationship with that Jewish chick when he was in college, you know that had to spir him into bringing the Catholics and the Jews together.  And when he was talking as a young priest about seeing the pope carried about on the chair gave some nice insight to his views about what a pope should be.

But I must say, seeing him break out the kung fu on the Russians in the white vestments was pretty cool.

They dedicated like 2 solid weeks of programming to him when he was dying and after he died.  You didn't get enough pope then?

yea, the movie sucked. They seemed to concentrate on events only important to certain groups - whatever...at least they did it :dunno:

and yea, two hours doesn't do the Pope justice. If you want to get a better look at the Pope's life PBS/BBC did a great biography.

Movie got a bit boring though when the Pope and his priests all had to put on the rock concert at the end to save the Vatican from the evil mongol trying to put up the strip mall.  Can't get that stupid song out of my head :disbelief

Haven't heard much from the new pope, hows he doing?
