My library is getting rich
« on: April 11, 2005, 02:55:05 PM »
About a year ago my local library went through a complete remodelling: from a one floor, it became to floors. It looks really nice and modern, good place to study. A part of remodelling was obtaining brand new dells with LCD monitors; most were 15' and some 17'...

I come in today to see all the screens replaced with 21' !!!!! all of them. I wonder what they did with the old ones, and where they're getting money for all this crap - maybe it was donated :dunno:

Overall, the two libraries by my house are really good - I never have to go to a video rental place again.

Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.

You're so lucky. In what area do you live? Pennsylvania and Philadelphia in particular are out to slash library budgets

For a second there, I thought you were talking about a library in your house.  And a lot of places are upgrading lately... 21' LCDs are down in price, almost comparable to CRTs if you know where to look.

shit...I wish. Although my library did get few additions: my dad made two more book cases (before anyone asks, my Dad's passion is carpentry) and he also bought me a $1500 solid oak desk

>>he also bought me a $1500 solid oak desk

cool, thats one thing i could definately use. Right now my "desk" is my couch and coffee table. Makes those 10 hour hack sessions pretty painfull on the back.

edit: bah, who needs grammar anyway.

That's nice.  Our town library sucks.  A bunch of books were wiped out from a flood (several years ago...) and we still don't have a decent collection of books.  Lots of kids' books though..  At least we can get books from other libraries in the county in a quick time.
