Oh, and I'd like to add an extra rule to our draft, similar to the first draft we did where we were allowed to pick someone at the peak in their lives.  Can we do the same here?  I have a few people in mind who I'd like to have on my island at a certain time in their life before they might have become crazy/irrelevent/ridiculed/etc.

Makes sense to me. I was basically thinking that. If you want to specify a certain point in that person's life that would be fine.

first pick:
Martin Luther
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martin_luther

while he's a bit controversial for his statements on the Jewish people (many of which were later used as nazi propaganda) his greater good was sparking the Reformation that helped turn religion back into a personal choice instead of a government control.  He fought for non-Latin translations of the bible and opened the common man's eyes to the truth of their religion; showing that salvation comes through faith alone, not through blindly following religious/political leaders.

second pick:
Teddy Roosevelt
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teddy_roosevelt

The ultimate mans-man cowboy-president, he was a mixed bag of modern political theory... on the one had, he advocated war with Spain and later  funded and supported a revolution in panama so we could build and lease a canal from them.  On the other hand, he was an environmentalist who preserved hundreds of millions of acres of land and a progressivist who knew that capitalism needs common sense regulation.

incredible human being. I bet conversation with him would never be boring.

One rich motha-fucker.  And he did some pretty cool stuff too, including some very hefty philanthropy.

Ok... second pick:

George Washington
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Washington

Out of all of USA's founding fathers, I find him to be the most interesting. Among other things, I liked that he apparently didn't let the power of being the first President get to his head and refused to serve more than two terms.

Nice Pick.

Let's go with the other founding father and scientist I find fascinating:

President Jefferson

Followed by:

Her Royal Majesty Queen Elizabeth I

I'm with you all on the peak thing - though I should note that I am equally fascinated by many of these people as kids - comes with aspiring to child psychology...So perhaps they could shift ages while they are on the island? :)

Albert Einstein
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albert_einstein

Not being too much of a history buff, it appears I will be mostly picking the more famous historical figures and not so much with the more obscure ones. Still, there is a bunch of stuff in Einstein's life to be interested in, starting with the science but also the two world wars that he lived through and was affected by.
