I'm not convinced. Why should i still have to choose the letters exactly, disambiguation like T9 should work with an input style like that instead of having to memorize every characters position.

Yeah, there's no way that typing every letter like that is as fast as swype, though it may be more accurate. Given the error correction feature in swype, I doubt that the accuracy is even a plus.
