to invite or not to invite...
« on: April 11, 2005, 11:43:52 AM »
Do we make a post at cprog about our new home inviting whomever desires to post and enjoy our company.... or do we keep to ourselves and avoid the 12-year-old scene?

Yes, invite definitely. We need members to grow and flourish IMHO.

what if we start with selective invitations.  then the general invitations can go out.

of course, with increase activities runs a greater risk for mod action (then i can take bets on who the first vicitim of the banhammer will be)

Too late!   :(

I thought about doing that... but hell, kermi has been a member of this group, if he has a problem with it, he can PM me or whatever.

Hey Rob, are you really programming in smalltalk now? how do you like it, and what IDE are you using?

Well, I haven't been there, so that's a given. :suave: But I get the feeling I missed a lot of good stuff. Care to fill me in?

Yep. After too many years I decided to study for a degree part time. My first course is Computing: An Object Oriented approach. The IDE is one specific to the OU (http://www.open.ac.uk ), but it's based on LearningWorks. Any Smalltalk assistannce gratefully received!

I'm not sure how much I like it yet, I'm still trying to hold on tight! VB & 8051 assembler for work and Smalltalk for studying do not a good mix make!
