Title: Game Programming
Post by: hans on November 04, 2020, 09:59:19 PM
So I've gotten into the retro handheld thing and due to it I've been stumbling around the indie game dev stuff and found a couple of pretty interesting emulators for game development.

Pico-8 and TIC-80, along with a couple others, are "fantasy consoles" that are basically old school gaming engines with built in editors for everything you need to make a game in short order. Pico-8 is probably the more popular one but also more limited. But you can throw them on the RG350 line of handhelds, desktop, or Raspberry PIs.

Coding is super simple and quick. If you're into that sort of thing or have kids, friends, etc, I highly recommend looking into them.
