Stream to DVD
« on: November 26, 2008, 02:22:50 PM »
I have a coworker (Brett Obes) that wants to save the streaming video from this site  http://www.fasthockey.com/  to DVD.

Any ideas or software/freeware to do this?

Any specific recommendations?  I have zero experience here, and Google has a TON of selections.  Too many for me to sort through very quickly.  I don't want to guess and send him to an application with malware or one that is crappy.

Depends on what the stream is.  I don't think FF or IE does it, but Opera will save a .flv or .swf file to the cache folder of whatever you are watching.  You can take that file and convert it to something else.

I think FF probably also has some addons to do it but I've never used one.  Google SUPER and it will come up with a great converting program, but you have to have 20Gb free on your C drive.  I think Nero would probably convert it for you too, but I'm not sure.

If its swf or flv you can use swfcatcher for ie and ff to rip it. Works great, I have used it to copy different swf files.
