The Avengers
« on: May 14, 2012, 01:39:59 PM »
How the heck is there not a thread for the Avengers yet?

Saw it yesterday and was very pleased. It was fun, had pretty good acting for the most part, not many roll-your-eyes cheesy lines, and a couple moments that actually made me laugh out loud.

8.5/10

Saw it Friday...I was expecting something decent, but I was actually surprised with how good it was.  Action scenes weren't ridiculous, and charlie sums up the eyerolls well...

I don't think a movie like this would really work if you didn't roll your eyes once or twice.  Superhero movies are supposed to be a little crazy and the trick is walking the eyerolling line without living on the wrong side of it

I loved the movie.  I thought the eye-rolling moments fit in perfectly.  Same with the "tense scene <bam> comedy" scenes.

Needed more Jeremy Renner in various stages of undress.

Other than that, it was good.

I was surprised with how well Johansson fit in for the most part (although her scenes with Renner were a bit underwhelming), and I enjoyed the interplay between Captain America, Iron Man and Bruce Banner. There's lots of ways that could have gone wrong but didn't.

The only character I didn't like.  I blame seeing the infograph about how shitting his archery form was.

I was initially worried about Edward Norton not playing Bruce but I though Mark Ruffalo ended up fitting the role a lot better.

She fits in anything because she is fucking hot.

finally saw this last weekend. It was OK; but I think my expectations were set very high, and were not met...I think I even like thor better. It just took way too fucking long to get started and then when it finally did it ended in an instance. I like the new Hulk.

You also didn't see it in the theater like you needed to.  Oh, and you are wrong.
