I can't STAND the new webmail system 1&1 is using. Is there a good client that works like gmail that i can use with my domain by setting it up on my hosting? I wish I could just upload and setup a gmail system

Or, just use Google Apps.  Depending on how many users you need it can be free

and  if its just you and your e-mail just use regular gmail. you can set it to check your other 1&1 e-mail and pull it into your inbox (and filter/flag it etc) and you can set your "reply from" in gmail to automatically look like mail you send from gmail is really coming from the domain at 1&1.

I use both these methods, depending on the domain name.

It's me and a handful of people. I wouldn't mind using email, i just want it to show as my domain. I considered using alias's like I have in the past, but I want to keep a seperate inbox for these

Thats exactly how i manage the business email accounts. The problem is I want an independant one. For example my school email is "stevenbillington at email.xxxx.edu but when i sign in, it looks, shows, acts, is, etc gmail.

ok i can't find an answer to this:

mail.mydomain.com

Where should i be forwarding it to get this for my login screen:

email.grcc.edu

Notice how it comes up and already has the "@email.grcc.edu" and you can just login and it appears to run off their website. Instead of having them go to gmail.com (where they are probably already signed in to an account like i am) and enter the entire email and domain.
