Rugby World Cup 07
« on: May 29, 2007, 05:33:41 PM »
I know Fitlike and possibly Rob will be watching, not sure about our American contingent.  I don't think Australia are a chance, they were rattled by Wales last Saturday.  I'm not buying into the dual-captaincy idea either.  For my money and support, I think Ireland have a great chance.  They're arguably the most in-form European team, with a great sqaud and a bit of underdog determination.  It'll be interesting to see their form against the Pumas.

I think other top contenders will be:

New Zealand
South Africa
France
Wales (they're an outside chance, but they'll be tough to beat unless they brick it)

I would but, since it's the sports board it's only fitting that the topic should compete for ascendency with the other stuff like US-style girls rounders and pansy armoured punt-ball.
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?.

That's a fair call.  I'll make damn sure it's up there.

I think we may be on different planets - I thought you were getting in early for the Autumn 2007 rugby world cup. Is this the sevens you're talking about?

No I'm talking about Cup, not the sevens.  Just this is the only thread going, so I was posting about other games here.

I'm quite looking forward to the world cup.

I'm quite certain that England will re-affirm themselves as all-conquering world champions..............not!!

Probably.  We don't even have a kicking coach.

Against all odds, Australia won 20-15...gripping match, the Wallabies played their hearts out.  One of the best matches I've seen in recent times.
