I'm honestly at a point with these two where I need some interjection. I need some help deciding between the two, unless someone has another idea to throw in the mix. The Toughbooks have been good to me, but they have one MAJOR downfall.....the touchscreen does not work with gloved hands. Period. Well ok unless you use the stylus, royal pain in the ass. The V1 on the other hand uses an IR touchscreen that does work with gloves. Honestly right now that is my biggest deal. Another factor is the V1's ability to use 3G/4G.
I need two of which ever I go with, for the purpose of in-vehicle use. There is no need for them to be used outside of a vehicle situation. They will synchronize with a main server that connects with other PC's to be used outside the vehicles.
Let's talk numbers. I won't buy used in this case, I have no reason too. In fact the warranty factor pushes me directly to new. The V1 packs an impressive 5 year warranty, with 3 years on site service included.
Toughbook: $3,650.99 each
V1: $4,595.00 each
