Title: DVD Recorders
Post by: hans on May 29, 2005, 12:04:14 AM
I was doing a little shopping at the local Sams Club and saw a DVD recorder and thought to myself that I need one of them to record TV shows and maybe even some old VCRs for people into DVDs. Anybody have recommendations for one? I'm sure somebody here has one.

Under $300 would be great.

i'd say just buy a tv tuner and a dvd recording drive. you have more options that way, and you can get both (with reasonably good quality) for less than $300

This is a more a hardware question/discussion item so I've moved it there.

You sure it shouldn't be in Movies/TV? ;)

I used to have a tuner card in my last desktop but I was never impressed with the quality of the recording. So what are the better tuner cards out there no days?

over xmas we got a dvdr vcr combo, and so far I'm not impressed.  I've spent a couple of hours trying to get it to work, but it won't read blank dvds properly.  It's a Panasonic.  Try it if you want.  Hopefully I can fix it this week...
