> "Guero" - Beck

I've been disappointed in this so far, but maybe it's because Sea Change was so great.  Some of the songs on the first half of the album rule, but some of them sound like (to steal a phrase from a review I read) B-sides from Midnite Vultures.  Still, it's Beck, so it's good.

Decemberists - Picaresque (not as good as Her Majesty, but has its moments)
Handsome Boy Modeling School - White People
Cake - Comfort Eagle
Mars Volta - Frances the Mute.

Chemical Brothers - Surrender...
I've had this album for years, pretty well since it came out.  First heard the song "Under The Influence" in the old PSOne game Wip3out.  Awesome stuff.  Raced out and got the album soon after.  Funny, it's often bagged out and seen as being one of their dud albums, but it's so mixed up style-wise I've never found myself bored with it.  Aside from "Asleep From Day" - the chick from Mazzy Star is good, but the song makes me want to fall asleep!

Fatboy Slim - Halfway Between The Gutter And The Stars...
Again, one of those albums that's panned by fans/critics, but I really like it.  Very much a House-Gospel style, rather than his trademark "Big Beat", but there are some old school Norman tracks like "Ya Mama" and "Retox" that will blow your speakers.  The two Macy Gray songs are sublime - her sultry voice and soulful delivery pretty much voids the rest of the album, as good as it is.  If only they'd do a whole album together, not likely as she seems to have gone MIA of late.  Oh well.  "They say he shook himself to death"...

It's a bit samey - the tracks in the middle all sort of bleed together into one.  But "E-Pro" is such fantastic song - one to really crank up.

Totally agree.  There was another one on there I really liked, but I can't remember the name offhand.

I'm with Cheez, The Decembrists' new CD is absolutely awesome. And while I agree that Her Majesty is probably better, this new one has some amazing tracks on it. More than "having its moments."

Right now I'm rockin' out to:

The Decembrists - 16 Military Wives.

I'm also really enjoying the first couple of tracks on the new Queens Of The Stone Age CD (Lullabies To Paralyze). "Burn The Witch," "Everybody knows that you're insane," etc. are great songs.

I saw the Zutons when I went to see Keane.  They were quite rockin'.
