Title: Vista Ultimate 64 bit
Post by: KnuckleBuckett on December 06, 2008, 07:04:36 AM
Just installed it on one of my drives.

Still working on getting everything installed and in order.

Review so far.  Installs better than XP.  However the update process was always worse than the install in XP.  Vista isn't much better there.  Smoother maybe, but what a pile of updates.  I can see why SP2 is coming up.

I bumped up to 8GB of memory simultaneously.

So far most of my former hardware and software work.  However I think it likely that my scanner is a casualty of upgrade.

Going to try out gaming next.

Starting with Fallout 3, Left 4 Dead, TF2, and Assassins Creed.  Maybe Far Cry 2 also.

Sometime this year I would like to get a new Monitor

and

a new hard drive.

64 bit isn't as stable or fast as 32 bit when it comes to vista.

Step out of the darkness and embrace the light with Ubuntu.
