Gaming headset
« on: November 23, 2020, 05:07:18 PM »
I want to replace my headset.  8-9 hour days are hurting my ears a bit.  Budget is whatever, not looking for something cheap.  If I get no other input, I may go with these: https://www.amazon.com/Razer-BlackShark-Gaming-Headset-Detachable/dp/B086PKMZ1Q/ref=redir_mobile_desktop?ie=UTF8&aaxitk=Os-2QcMhPMhuDr1QE.qEpQ&hsa_cr_id=3686804820201&ref_=sbx_be_s_sparkle_mcd_asin_2  They were rated pretty high.

Didn't you get a new pair of headphones recently?  Didn't they have an integrated mic?

Not recently. I got a pair of Cowin E7s last year but I absolutely hate them. I have ear buds but I'm looking for a comfortable wired gaming headset.

Are you using these for work, or are you gaming 8 - 9 hours a day? :D

I ask because for gaming, good audio is important. But for zoom meetings, ear buds may be a more comfortable option.

It will be for both. I have ear buds I use for meetings sometimes already but over the ear headphones are more comfortable for long periods.

I've been using my QC 35s for years and am happy with them.  Looking online it appears they have a gaming version that has an extended mic and cord.  I use the built-in mic for meetings and haven't had a problem.

I have a pair of QC 15s that I gave my wife a while ago.  I don't remember if they had a mic or not.  I'll check those out.

Actually, I do have one complaint: When using the mic it uses Bluetooth AG audio that makes the sound shitty.  But that would go away if you are plugged in rather than bluetooth.

Yeah, I really don't like wireless headphones for meetings.  I far prefer my wired ones, which is why I'm leaning towards the wired Razer.

I have too many cords on my desk to want another one for meetings.  It is mostly when gaming that I notice it the most (since it is more obvious).  But in those cases I'll just use the mic on the webcam and keep the audio on the headphones.

I don't even like the audio being wireless.  I've tried with 2 earbud models and my Cowin wireless.  They just don't sound as good as my wireless headphones.  Maybe I'd get used to it if I used them every day but right now I'm not willing to give up the quality.
