Title: Accessing iTunes store slow
Post by: ober on February 24, 2011, 10:22:51 AM
Is this true for anyone else lately?  The past ... 2 weeks, it's been DREADFULLY slow trying to access the store through iTunes.  Just pulling up apps to see what's new or even seeing if there are updates to apps takes FOREVER.

It's always slow. Sad.  - hopefully that new data center to launch this spring will help...

It hasn't been this bad in the past.  The end of 2010 and very early in 2011, it was working fine for me.  iTunes literally goes to Not Responding now.

I am not going to hate on iTunes, because Kermi will beat on me with his Apple wood cane.

That said, for fucks sake Apple...c'mon!

Dude I never said Apple was perfect...nor iTunes for that matter.  I just refuse to agree with the black and white/throw the baby out with the bath water rhetoric...there's good amidst the crap.

Mine's slow ober, but I can access it...no more slow than normal.

Never went B/W on you.  I repeat.  iTunes needs a complete import/export tool.  One that exports EVERYTHING to the device of your choice.  Then imports it from said device to your new PC, HDD, etc.  What they do provide is half assed at best.

I dread switching hard drives for this reason.  Gah.  It isn't too much to ask.

I agree...I still say I haven't had trouble doing that in about 5 years...It takes 2 steps, but if you let iTunes organize itself, I've had no problem...
