Secondary Hard Drive
« on: June 18, 2006, 11:29:57 AM »
I had a 40GB drive lying around so I thought I would install it for a storage hard drive.  I changed the jumpers on my main drive to Master with slave, and changed the jumpers on the secondary drive to slave with Master.  Windows detected the drive, and when I try to add new hardware it says the device is working properly.  However, it doesnt appear in My Computer.  Are my jumpers not setup right?

The hard drive shows up in BIOS and Device Manager.

Thanks

Did you format the drive?

If Windows XP: Admin Tools->Computer Management->Storage->Disk Management.

You might need to setup partitions or format as JaWiB suggested
