how do I make a bookmark icon? Almost all sites have one, and I sill don't know how to make one :(

I'm not sure if that's what they call it. Basically I want to make a little image that appears next to the textual bookmark in quick links...like entropy has the little black and gray "ES".

I had to download a plugin to save files as .ico in photoshop.

I made the one for this site using a free program called "Free Icon Studio" from Coffee Cup software.  Probably one of the quickest and best little programs I have at my disposal.
