Looks like some form of basic (VB?) to me... but I'm not familiar with that many languages.

Edit: Actually, no it doesn't.

that's right - I just thought sim scripting is based in another language :dunno:

That script was buried in a large chunk of code and what it did was give a slight delay between end of transaction and printing of the receipt. Normally that delay would not be noticeable, but other workstations did not do it. We spent a long time troubleshooting this...everything from network to workstation and printer hardware. And we were notngetting anywhere. We looked at some of the other custom scripts and nothing. Looked like a phantom problem. This site is 3 hours away from my peoria office, so all this is happening in the span of 4 weeks. Customer was getting really frustrated, and part of it is my fault for not staying very close to it. So i finally got our hospitality product manager involved and he combed through thousands of lines of code to find that.

Was this something one of your old programmers did or was this another company? I'm actually really curious now that you answered my previous question. Seems almost so pointless that it could almost be taken as intentional.

Looks to me like there was a call to a sub called scan_check which was commented out, and the 1s delay was put in there instead? Maybe the call to scan_check took around a second?

Anyone knows real men don't comment code
