That chart is pretty dumb.  There's no way RSA has a better shot at the cup than the US or an equal one to Mexico.

They have a much better shot at the cup than Mexico, they just have an equal shot at advancing from their group.

And home field advantage counts for a lot.

So far the chart is right and you are wrong.

I guarantee if you replayed that match 10 other times, Mexico would win it.   Mexico is a much better team than South Africa.

It's not going to matter though since neither side is going through

If you could figure out a way to test it I'd give you 2:1 that the chart is right more than you.

The chart is all knowing.

I think they are giving RSA a boost since they are the home team.  Every cup that seems to make a huge difference.

The chart is based on ESPN  power rankings which are provably inaccurate because they don't say the Tigers are the worst team in MLB and they might be the worst team ever in baseball ever

Of course. Home field advantage counts for a lot.

They give a boost to all African teams actually, as I think they expected home continent advantage to be somewhat statistically significant.

These ESPN rankings are different than the ones for other sports. These were done by Nate Silver (538/baseball prospectus). If they were made by the same people that make the MLB rankings I'd agree with you.

It's a proven fact that when people have anything to do with Bristol they turn into blithering retards.  Look what it's done to micah, and he only lives in the same state!

I had no idea that the Brits hadn't taken the Cup since 66.

There's no such thing as a 'british' team, mufflemuncher. Unfortunately only England qualified for SA out of the 'brit' teams(Wales, N. Ireland, Scotland).

But, no hard feelings: Go USA!

(and win today, that is; where you go after that can be determined later)

If there's a draw, do you both change your avatars?

I was going to suggest that actually.

A draw on a cheap goal is better than a loss, I'll take it!
