I saw some stats from an article yesterday about free email providers.  It was something like this:

yahoo: 63 million
msn/hotmail: 47 million
aol (i think): 20 something million
gmail: 5.4 million

that's logical considering yahoo, hotmail, and aol have been around for 10 years longer than gmail

Howdy,
It was my understanding that the version of Gmail in use now, at least when I signed on was a beta and may become a subscription i.e. $$$ service in the future.

I don't think that's the case, considering the fact that everything else they provide is free of charge.
