School loans

charlie:
I've got like $3 and change left on my school loans from 19.5 years ago. That last bit will be paid off in a couple weeks and I'll be done.

It hasn't really been a burden or anything I really thought about. It was on auto-pay and at a low interest rate so I never really noticed it. But still it's nice that it's one less thing and an extra $75 a month will be cool too.

Mike:
Paid them off awhile ago.  Wife just paid hers off recently.

No one's going to forgive the old loans; even if one of your socialist picks make it into office and comes up with some sort of government  single payer college system.  You're still going to owe what you owe.

Meanwhile, yeah, I'm 18 years  into a measly $10,000 loan debt.  Still owe about $12,000.

I paid off my grad school loans 2016 (graduated 2012).
I was pretty determined to get rid of the payments before buying a house so I did one giant payment of 15k.
Which was almost as terrible as completing the wire to close on the house.

ober:
I just paid mine off last December.  It's nice to get that $125/mo back.
