My point still stands. Many people use sports in high school for a jumping point into other things (college scholarships). And high school sports are part of the community. It builds rivalries, something for the community to cheer for or be part of. It's a huge part of the high school experience even if you don't take part in them (in my opinion). If high schools didn't offer sports, I think high school in general would be far less interesting. And many talented kids are discovered in high school that go on to play pro. I guess I don't understand why you're so against it.
