Sick of Sydney, want out

An ex-girlfriend of mine is moving to New York and she has really inspired me. I really am sick of Sydney and would like to go somewhere else for a year or so. Ive been looking at these work in America programs but im not sure about them...does anybody have a mail room I can work in and a couch for me to crash on?

Now that you've brought it up, there is a whole "scene" where people vacation by crashing on people's couches in order to save money.

Now is your girlfriend moving for a job, vacation or one of those "work in America" programs you mentioned.  If its thw ork in America programs, you should ask her.  If its for another reason, you could always try a sudent visa?

She is going to NY to get away from him ;)

I would say avoid New York, Los Angles, San Fransico, the entire southeast, and Texas.

I Have a gay room mate at this very moment ;). My ex-girlgriend is going cause she wants to go to the university of new york and work at the same time.

These programs all look like they don't actually find you jobs but simply give you advice and help you with all the papers and stuff. Id prefer something where its like an internship or something not working as a waiter etc. To be honest though I just wanna get over there either this year or next year.

P.S I don't have an accent, you guys do.

No...thats part of the reason I want out. I recently broke up with my girlfriend (different to the new york person) so I moved out of our apartment and its a real bastard at the moment for renters in Sydney.
