Just when I have a maths problem I can't figure out...well its actually mathematical computing definition. Does anybody know what an ill-conditioned problem is?

An example is:

The zero's of (x-2)^4 - 10^-8

Whatever THAT means...

further examples...

1.

The roots of
(x-1)^8 - (0.01)^8 = 0

2.

x + y = 2
0.99x + y = 1.99
