design magazines - only in UK?
« on: February 08, 2006, 10:00:31 PM »
why do all the better design magazines come from the UK? and why are they all so damn expensive, >$15 ?!

they are nice though and very informative; I really wish there were similar ones printed here in the States for less money. It seems that every photoshop, dreamweaver, or webdesign magazine I pick up at b&n is printed in the UK.

I do buy "practical web design" every once in a while when I see a really great tutorial inside.

So yeah, that was my rant.
Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.

I don't actually buy magazines, so I wouldn't know.  I get a lot of my tips from reading other designer's blogs.

Ober, do you mind posting some links to some of the blogs you read?

Thanks

http://www.forgetfoo.com/ (warning: sometimes NSFW)
http://www.joelonsoftware.com/

Those are 2 of the main ones (the first is much more active and posts a variety of issues).  And they often link to other articles and other blogs that I feed off of.  :)
