Flight Practice Map in BF2
« on: April 21, 2006, 07:56:48 AM »
So, I know I'm probably talking to myself when I post threads about BF2 on here, but who cares?

I was on bf2s.com last night checking out their files list and they had a map/mod for a flight test map (modified version of Wake Island) with 6 carriers, 4 jets and 4 choppers on each.  If that's not cool enough, they all had special skins.  The F-15 had the Blue Angel skin (which looked awesome) and everything else looked special too.  I screwed around with it for about 20 min.  Pretty cool if you ask me.

Might help if you posted the odd screenie - I was a bit daunted by the idea of bf2 when you mentioned in some previous thread what a memory slurper it was. Sounds good, though. :)
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?.

I haven't played BF2 for PC in so long...But I have been playing Modern Combat for Xbox 360 quite a bit recently. It's funny because Modern Combat isn't at all as good as the PC version. I guess I just like playing with a controller better.

Actually, now that I think of it, I wonder if I can use my 360 controller on the PC (it uses usb after all)

Scratch using my controllers on the PC. Apparently, the wireless controllers always connect wirelessly, even if you buy a play n' charge cable (which uses a usb connection). So I can charge my controller at the pc, but not use it.

Ironically, I was thinking "why would I want a wired controller?" when I decided to go all wireless.

Do you always play a medic? If there is such a thing - I've never played it. Or are you just holding medkits because your gun obscures the view?

That's the only available kit in that mod.  You don't even have a gun or the ability to select another kit.  I normally play Spec Ops or Anti-Tank.  I like to blow shit up.

I might get BF2 some day. It looks like a pretty good game, just read a review on it.

Yeah... I'm pretty hooked on it, and the stats available from various websites really keep you coming back.  Plus they keep adding to it.  They're coming out with another patch before too long that they say will allow players to request vehicles to be dropped in!!

I very rarely download games that aren't too old to find stores.  I bought BF2 (and 1942)

Not at all.  I sucked at it and it didn't like my joystick at all for some reason.  If they've added support for my sidewinder I might be willing to consider it.  My gaming time is mostly sucked up with Oblivion right now, though.
