Title: cuties
Post by: Jake on September 14, 2020, 07:05:09 PM
12/10. Great coming of age movie. I agree with such progressive publications as Rolling Stones and the new Yorker - what an inspirational film! Very empowering story. It does a very good job denouncing traditional family values - super positive. And the dance moves! Not at all a pedaphile's dream come true. Really goes hand in hand with Tik tok's not exploiting and not normalizing pedophilia. Fuck it, 15/10

in all seriousness, I don't think netflix gives a shit - movie was still trending yesterday in their top 10.

Ok so the story is that Netflix took what is apparently a totally reasonable and well reviewed movie released outside the U.S. and then changed up the marketing for a U.S. audience but in doing so made gross ads/posters/etc, that made it look like it totally inappropriate.

So yes, who knows wtf Netflix was thinking there. But the movie itself is probably fine.

can't say either way because I didn't see it, but there are a couple people that I trust who did see it and both (female and male) said the movie is disgusting.

Ok... I'm skeptical but I have no plans to watch it to make up my own mind so :dunno:

I also have no plans to watch it, but I put in in the same class as "toddlers in tiaras" from the ads I saw.

Same. I'm sure there is value in the reception it received outside of the US but I have no plans to watch it and I don't have Netflix right now so  :dunno:

No interest at all.  Seems like a very Neflix move tho.
