I agree, CDBaby does a great job, and direct distribution is definitely preferable (frankly, we get more of the money, as does CDBaby) I'll definitely accept Widespread Panic as a compliment, haha. It was done in real studio, however... we were on a budget, in regards to both time and money. We were given about fourteen hours to record the entire album and it was mixed and mastered in around the same amount of time. It's far from perfect (in the recording, of course, but especially in the writing), but it's definitely not generic, and I think if we were able to get a record deal off of this, we could really do some good in the world.
