Topic: Ubuntu 12.04: Precise Pangolin

Anyone else checking out the BETA release? I got it downloading to stick on a new partition. Hoping it fixes some little things that annoy me in 11.10 without bringing too many new issues.

I'm still debating a whole new distro.

You know, I'm liking the sounds of Fedora 16 so I'm going to give that a try.

My issue is they never address problems usless they are massive. They just keep adding some features and releasing new stuff. Its worn me out.

Hoping to like Fedora 16, sure looks sharp. Few hours it will be setup.

Fedora 16 up and running.

Initial thoughts:

Not much different use and appearence wise than Ubuntu. It runs on Gnome 3 which is nice, Unity sucked. My Broadcom wireless was a nightmare to get installed, but that was me getting use to the system. I needed PAE drivers and didn't know it.

MUCH faster, and everything works. The computer wakes from sleep, by function keys are spot on, etc etc.

Predictions:

I think I will be wiping Ubuntu off within a week and sticking with Fedora and Win7

Everything works so mcuh better and faster. Ubuntu is now completely gone.
