I was downloading the GIMP today on sourceforge and I actually clicked on an ad thinking it was the download button. Normally, I wouldn't think much of it since it's a common tactic to put a fake "Download" button, but then I realized that the ad actually said "Download GIMP," AND it caused an appropriately-named *.exe to start downloading. WTF? Do ads really need to know the content of the page I'm viewing?
