I'm not usually one to cry foul on advertisements, but I just watched a Trojan commercial that said
"1 in 4 people with HIV don't tell their partners. Not because they don't care, not because they don't know. Besides abstinence, there's only one way to stop the transmission of HIV." Cut to Trojan logo.
Seriously, it seems to me that they're advocating dangerous and incredibly irresponsible behavior for the sake of trying to move a few more jimmyhats. Maybe it's just me, but I wouldn't want my partner to knowingly leave out the fact that they carry a deadly and highly infective virus because they think that condoms are 100% effective STD protection.
Via Wikipedia: "According to a 2001 report by the National Institutes of Health [6], correct and consistent use of latex condoms: reduces the risk of HIV/AIDS transmission by approximately 85%."
Great! Only approximately a 15% chance! Let me make that decision, thanks, not Trojan's advertising company.
