I have seen that comic posted by just about every runner I know in the last few days, haha.  When he wrote his comic about The Blerch, he became a celebrity among runners.

Marathon training starts this week!  Technically it started last week but there were only three runs so I'm not really counting it.  The plan assumes you're not just coming off another training cycle I think, so I may add some miles here and there at the start.  Today is week 2, Tuesday and I did 4 miles at a ~8:35 pace

Are you at all worried your longest run is "only" 16 miles? Making up by overall weekly mileage?

In the back of my mind I sort of am, but I've heard so many positive things about this program that I'll give it a shot.  I'm planning to do at least some of the Sunday runs as bonk runs, where I will do the Saturday run in the evening and the Sunday run early in the morning without eating anything in between.  That way it'll better simulate the 16 miler as the "last" 16 miles of the race.  I don't expect those runs to be pretty.

I'm more concerned about the 6 day a week schedule.  This is the same program structure I followed for my half this month and by the end of it I was pretty burnt out.

Yeah. That is only 62 miles more than I ran. Horrible.

It was like 55 degrees out this morning.  What a difference that makes.  I actually ran with long sleeves today

NFL Football > NHL Hockey > AHL Hockey > MLB Baseball > NCAA Basketball > College Football >  Minor League Baseball > Cars going in a circle > World Cup Soccer > The Olympics > Regular Soccer > Kids I don't, know playing soccer > NBA Basketball

Good week of training, managed to do all of my runs for once.  This week, I'm going camping with some friends so that seems unlikely, but I'll try.  The meat of this training session starts next week

Last week:
Mon: off
Tues: 5mi @ 8:23
Wed: off
Thurs: 3mi @ 8:00
Fri: 3mi @ 8:00
Sat: 5mi @ 8:20
Sun: 5mi @ 8:27

Nice. I've been hitting 21 miles weekly and 9 miles in my long runs, and they feel like shit. This week I get to take it easy and have only 14 miles with a 7 mile long run.

You're already at 9 miles on a half plan 2 months out from the race?  You're gonna kill that.  You could run a half tomorrow.
