Gears of War - lost savegame

Half way through the act 5 (there are 5 acts to the game so not far to finish) and today I have found that I have lost my savegames...

There seems to be a number of bugs with the game (hell downloading patches seems to cause this problem too in some cases) that case the savegames to die.

What a piece of crap...
