antitaco
« on: January 07, 2009, 01:02:58 PM »
A local restraunt makes what they call the antitaco. Its an antipasto salad (no egg like some places) but the whole thing is covered in taco beef and cauced mixed in with melted cheese. Basically they cook the beef and mix it with taco seasoning, a little sauce, and cheese so its all melted together and then layer it the antipasto salad.

It is fucking GOOD but boy am I paying for it today LOL.

The large was 6.99 and came in two of the styro containers u get when u take food home. Big as shit and soooooo good

In okinawa they had something they called "taco rice" which is basically the same idea.  Instead of a corn shell they just put the toppings over streamed rice.  How good it was kinda depended on where you went.  Some places it'd just be beef and cheese while others it'd be been, cheese, lettuce, tomato, salsa, etc.

Rice is actually an option they offer, that's interesting. I was going to order one for lunch tomorrow maybe I will try it with the rice now.

Rice is popular in Mexican food, but I really never considered the possibility of Mexican rice paddies.

There are lots of rice fields here in California and I'm sure plenty are staffed by Mexicans
