So I'm going to be interning at the LA Times doing Django-based programming projects this summer. I do love databases and using them as journalism, so we'll see what sort of stuff I come up with. Very excited :)

I'd like to take a moment to awkwardly thank cprogramming.com for being the place to cut my coding teeth.

And the rest of you, just for being you. Also because I'm kind of drunk.

Why is it I worry you will make the switch from a respectable paper to interning at Falcon or some other such gay porn production company?

If only I had a dollar for every wayward youth I knew who went to LA to go to work for a paper and wound up doing gay porn - well I wouldn't have any money - but that's not the point . . .

I can still do that on the side. I mean, I've already started advertising my services as a model/erotic masseur in the greater LA area. My friends and I have also been practicing dramatic off-in-the-distance looks during lunch a la The Hills. Things are much more dramatic in LA.

@axon - More or less graduating this semester (April), but technically I'll have one credit to sort out over the summer, so I guess summer. Wish I could just argue it into oblivion, but don't think that'll work.

you may want to include a fascination with some fetish - as they pretty much originated in CA.  "Fascination" is the key though - there's not commimtment in "fascination" and you still get your money without having to do anything you don't want to.

I had to learn the hard way :(
