Title: Droid turbo
Post by: Jake on March 25, 2015, 09:23:17 PM
swapped my droid maxxx for the turbo. It is very fast. Same feel as the maxxx but battery lasts a bit longer, about 36hrs with the way I use it. The biggest difference is the recharge speed...less than an hour. It also has something new Verizon is trying out called advanced calling. It allows me to do video calling similar to face time on iPhones. I love droids

Oh, and the camera is awesome.

Probably going to get a Galaxy S6 when I get around to it.

Ooh, I got the Turbo a few months ago too. I don't think the camera is that awesome though. Meh.

I can only compare with my previous droids, and there is a difference.

Do you have advanced calling turned on?

What is advanced calling?  Sounds spiffy

It is where the phone (on its own) makes a call to a person exactly at the time you need it to.  Amazing really.  It can do up to 100 numbers and the precognition rate is pushing 98%.

My wife has the option on her iPhone 6.  The way it was explained, it was just like HD audio.

So I talked with someone else who had that feature turned on and it sounded like he was right next to me. Very clear, high quality audio. Knuck you would dig it.

Sounds like facetime audio.  I heard the iPhone (and I assume most top tier android's) are capable of this, but the networks haven't enabled it?

you have to manually turn it on and add it to your line if you want to use it. there is no charge for it, but yous till have to turn it on.

Yeah. Same for my wife. It was free but part of the plan. Not a phone option.

Jake, are you on Verizon?

Does the Turbo have a removable battery or an external memory slot?  Never mind.  No and no.

Why the DT over the Galaxy S5?  Spec to spec the S5 mostly seems to have the edge, though the DT has the larger battery.

I am starting to look at the Android world.  G9, Turbo, S5, etc.

I have the Turbo simply for the battery time. I liked the camera on my HTC One much more.

Three reasons
1. My last 4 or 5 phones have been droids and I have always been extremely happy with them. I don't have many apps, not do I play games in my phone. 90% communication: audio, video, electronic. 5% photos. 5% gps
2. My wife has an S4 and I don't like it as much as I like my maxxx
3. Battery life and speed of charge
