sorry to bump this dead thread.... but their site is finally up and running:

no forum... but there is an admin page that lets them do stuff like update their list of upcoming events.

thoughts? (not like i'm planning on changing anything)  I'm not particularly impressed with anything but hey, it got me a couple hundred bucks.

the onlick() calls an ajax function that loads the page content.  That way the user never really leaves the index page (and the stupid music player keeps playing while the user navigates)

that said, if the user does not have javascript turned on (or is a search-bot) the javascript function obviously wont work and they will follow the link

the .htaccess file converts the "keyword" in the url to  /index.php?pageID=keyword  and then is used to load the proper page content.

Yes but it violates one very important rule:  Don't break the back button!

But really on the menu the entire area should be a link, not just the text.

good point.  like i said, there's nothing on the site i'm really proud of. 

any better idea for keeping the stupid music player going while navigating the site?  my only other options (that i could think of) were either a pop-up window for the player or using frames (shudder).

Well you know how much I love music players :P  No matter what you'd end up breaking some "rule", it just a matter of choosing which rule to break :P
