Title: Battlefield 2, again

So I started playing again Friday night.  Still plenty of servers out there but numbers are down slightly.  I did find a lot of servers with bots in them, but most of them didn't have real people in so I didn't bother with those.  Still fucking love this game.  Oh, also noticed that initial login to the authentication servers takes a good 90 seconds or more.  Yikes.  Otherwise it's snappy.  I played about 3 hours Friday night and about 3 last night, until about 2AM, at which point I watched my computer jump from 2AM to 3AM.  Never saw that before.

Fuck it, I just found it on the EA Store for download for $12.  Downloading now.

Started playing last night.  Pretty decent once you get past that first section of the singleplayer.  For a few minutes I actually thought it was going to be a WWII game.  Otherwise, I'm digging the weapons and the 'destructability' of the world.  Very cool.

Played more last night.  I could do without all of the 'story' in the singleplayer... seriously, I think there is about as many cut scenes as there are time playing.

I wanted to get used to the weapons and I was hoping the singleplayer included some of the multiplayer maps therefore giving me a slight leg up when I went into the multiplayer.

So I can play vietnam directly from BC?  I saw a link in the main menu that said 'vietnam', but I wasn't sure what that was for and that was as I was shutting down last night.

I put in a couple few hours in BC2.  Mixed feelings.  Lots of spawn rape, decent graphics, decent shooter, weapons are okay, I found that I spent most of my time running/riding from spawn and immediately being owned by the pros that play everyday.  Not a noob friendly game.  I think it would be fine if I invested the time I did in BF2.  I am not going to do that for this game, so I didn't see the point.  COD games were similar to me.  Though I think they are superior to BC in general feel (IMO).
