This service is pretty awesome. Anyone else using it? You get a fair amount of storage free, and beyond that you just pay for what you actually use.
hey ethic if you and i were both courting lily allen..... oh wait, which one of us has a relationship that lasted more than the bus ride home?

My only real gripe so far is figuring out how to:

1) upload an entire folder instead of files from my laptop

2) Don't see any ability to give s3 my server info to transfer files

I don't think S3 was really designed with end-user use in mind. It's more about Web space to host files used by web sites or web applications, particularly web apps running on Amazon's elastic cloud service. That's probably why they don't have great tool support for file back-ups and things like that.

I think you are right on the nail there, I jumped into it last night not really knowing what it was on a referral from a backup procedure website. I wouldn't want to use it in that way for what I am doing, but i think i can easily make it useful.

We've been using it at work for a couple years now... mostly for hosting streaming media, like videos embeded into our clients websites.
